Bus traps mechanic
YOUNGSTOWN -- A mechanic working on the air ride of a travel-size bus behind Family Worship Church, 1731 Belmont Ave., Monday afternoon had to be rescued when the bus fell and trapped him underneath.
Fire Capt. Ron Russo said the air ride valve had been pulled, which let out the air and lowered the bus.
Firefighters used air bags and a jack to extricate the man, whose identity wasn't immediately available. He suffered burns to his stomach.

Arson suspected
YOUNGSTOWN -- Arson is suspected in the blaze that destroyed a vacant brick building at 602 Hillman St. around 2 a.m. Monday, said fire Lt. Kevin Johnson.
He said the structure, which had once been a store, has been the target of previous fires.
Value of the 75-year-old building was $7,000, Johnson said. Mahoning County records show the owner is Greater Friendship Baptist Church.
Route 14 section closed
SALEM -- A section of state Route 14 west of Salem is closed for culvert replacement, Ohio Department of Transportation officials said.
Traffic is diverted north of the city onto U.S. Route 62, then back to Route 14.
Shelly & amp; Sands Inc. of Zanesville has the $267,000 contract for the work. The project is to be completed in about four weeks.
Church burglarized
BOARDMAN -- The pastor of a South Avenue church reported that someone broke into the building and stole sound equipment.
The pastor of Trinity Fellowship Church told police that the break-in occurred between Thursday afternoon and Friday morning. A roof vent had been pried open, allowing the thief or thieves to get into the attic, where they then dropped from the attic into the church.
Several alarm and light fixtures were damaged; a candy machine in the lobby was broken into.
Besides the sound equipment, a computer also had been taken from the church, though it was found outside the building.
