AUCTIONS
XArts Council of Youngstown and Mahoning County is soliciting items to place on its e-bay auction. The proceeds will benefit the council and its educational outreach programs to the schools of Youngstown and Mahoning County. Art items, items of local interest or just interesting "cast-offs" may be brought to the Youngstown Historical Center of Industry and Labor (the Steel Museum), 151 Wood St., between 3 and 6 p.m. Thursday. The auction will be conducted by eAuction Block of Howland, a professional e-bay auction company. Items will be evaluated as to their salability by their professionals at that time. Items must have an estimated minimum value of $25. There is a $2 listing fee that may be paid by the donor and considered a tax-deductible contribution to the Arts Council as well as the item donated. XHoly Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church will have its annual Chinese Auction Oct. 16 at the church social hall, 527 W. Rayen Ave., Youngstown. Doors will open at noon and drawings begin at 2:30 p.m. Ethnic foods will be available for purchase. Coffee and cake are provided at no cost. The cost for entry is $3. Advance ticket sales are available through the church office by calling (330) 744-5820 Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
BAZAARS
XWomen's Fellowship of First Federated Church, 10786 Mahoning Ave., North Jackson, will hold its annual turkey dinner, bazaar and country store in the church fellowship hall from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Friday. The bazaar and country store will be open from 1 to 7 p.m. Carryouts will be available starting at 2 p.m. Cost is $7 for adults and $3.50 for children 5 to 12. The traditional turkey dinner with dressing, mashed potatoes, vegetable, coleslaw, applesauce, rolls, bread and dessert will be served. The public is welcome. Tickets will be sold at the door.
CARD/BINGO PARTIES
XSt. Brendan Parish, 2800 Oakwood Ave., will have it's annual fall card party at 2 p.m. Sunday in Maxwell Hall. Lunch is included. Sponsors are the Altar & amp; Rosary Society.
XSt. John's Infant of Prague Guild is having its annual bingo and card party in the church hall, 159 Reed Ave., Campbell on Sunday. Doors open at 1 p.m. Donation is $4 with a light lunch included.
CRAFT SHOWS
XAviator Sports Booster Club is sponsoring a fall craft show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 12 at Alliance High School. Setup will begin at 8 a.m. Tables and spaces are 10 feet or more. The craft show is free. There will be a concession stand with lots of goodies. There also will be a 50/50 raffle and more. Spaces for non-profit organizations are $15, all other businesses are $25. This is a craft show that would like to have one of a kind artwork shared. We will not accept multiple products. This is a great to for local artisans to sell their wares and services. XSt. James the Apostle Church, Route 422 West, New Bedford, Pa., is having an Apple Festival sponsored by the Men's Group and Autumn Harvest Sale, sponsored by the ROCKS (Really Outstanding Catholic Kids Serving) Saturday and Sunday after all masses. Many kinds of apples and mums, pumpkins, corn stalks and fall decorations will be for sale.
FUND-RAISER

XAnimal Welfare League Poker Run will be Sunday. Registration is 10 a.m. to noon at the Animal Welfare's Thrift & amp; Gift Shop, The Menagerie, 1010 N. Park Ave., Warren. QUILT SHOWS
XBeaver Valley Piecemakers Quilt Guild present its 11th annual quilt show, "Autumn In the Park." A juried show titled "Floral Appliqu & eacute;" will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 14 and 15, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 16 in the lodge at Brady's Run Park, Route 51, New Brighton, Pa. XCommunity Health Foundation of UPMC Horizon will host its second annual Halloween-themed "Boo Ball" at 7 p.m. Oct. 22 at The Corinthian, 47 Vine Ave., Sharon, Pa. The evening will include a dinner buffet, 25-cent drafts, entertainment by A Touch of Class Reunion Band and fortune tellers. Costumes are encouraged but not required. TRAINING PROGRAMS
XThe American Cancer Society is looking for licensed cosmetologists and beauty professionals to help with its Look Good, Feel Better program, a free, community-based program that teaches beauty techniques to female cancer patients currently in chemotherapy or radiation treatment to help restore their appearance and self-image. The program covers Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties. A four-hour training session will be held at the society office, 525 N. Broad St. (state Route 46) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 3.
