Davis anniversary observed Saturday at surprise party

XYOUNGSTOWN -- A surprise party was held Sept. 24 at Jolly Joe's Bar and Grill to celebrate the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Billy L. Davis, 2401 Taft Ave.
Hosts for the event were Lesa and Thom Willard and Melia and Eric McKean, all of Dothan, Ala., and Bill and Loretta Davis of Youngstown. Participating in the event were the couple's four grandchildren.
Mr. Davis and the former Barbara J. Smith were married Sept. 25,1955, at Mount Hebron Church in Volga, W.Va. They are members of Gibson Heights Second Presbyterian Church where he is an elder and she is a deacon and a member of the Ladies Guild.
Mrs. Davis retired from Boardman Beauty Academy where she was an instructor. She is a member of the Ladies Bowling Team at the Holiday Bowl.
Mr. Davis was honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force and is a member of Lowellville Rod and Gun Club, and the Scottish Rite 32nd Degree Masons at Argus Lodge 545. He retired as an electrician with General Electric in Youngstown and Warren Consolidated in Warren.
