NOTEBOOK YSU vs. Pitt

Bad day: Sophomore quarterback Tom Zetts had his first really bad day as a YSU starter. Not only did he complete just 6-of-19 passes for just 29 yards, but one of his completions was to himself as it was batted back at the line and he caught it which resulted in a 14-yard loss. In fact two of his six completions were for negative yardage.
More offensive woes: The Penguins just couldn't get anything going offensively. One reason was the fact that YSU was just 1-of-13 on third-down conversions and the one they did convert didn't come until the fourth quarter. Which was another reason that they were only in Pitt's territory three times the entire game.
Up next: The Penguins will begin play in the Gateway Conference next Saturday when they play host to Illinois State at 6 p.m. at Stambaugh Stadium.
