NEW CASTLE Youngstown man sought in July 30 shooting death

One man died and two were injured in the July 30 shootout.
NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- City police are searching for a Youngstown man wanted on homicide charges.
Police have charged Eugene Y. Frazier, 21, of Jacobs Road, with criminal homicide, two counts of attempted criminal homicide, five counts of aggravated assault, five counts of simple assault, three counts of recklessly endangering another person and a count of illegal possession of a firearm.
City police said the charges stem from the July 30 shooting death of Alonzo Clark, 30, of Youngstown and injuries sustained by two New Castle men.
Police found Clark with a large gunshot wound to his stomach on Green Street at 5:28 a.m. July 30. He later died at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown.
An affidavit filed to support the charges says Clark and Frazier were at a New Castle bar and went to a Green Street apartment of a female acquaintance, where they put on bulletproof vests and picked up guns.
Court papers said Clark had a 9-mm Beretta handgun and Frazier had an AK-47 rifle.
What witness said
The men left together, and the woman told police she heard shots fired a short time later. The woman drove a short distance from her home and found Clark lying on the ground bleeding. A silver handgun and a white bulletproof vest were found near him, court records say.
Frazier showed up a short time later but was not wearing his bulletproof vest or carrying the AK-47, an affidavit says.
A vest and a ski mask were found discarded in a nearby yard, police said.
Police said the New Castle men, Timothy McElroy and Fletcher Hudson, were found later in the Jameson Hospital emergency room with gunshot wounds. Hudson was shot in the foot and McElroy in the left arm and leg. Both were taken to UPMC Pittsburgh, and McElroy spent several weeks in the hospital, police said.
Police said the car the men arrived in had several bullet holes consistent with the weapon found on Clark.
The affidavit says Clark's autopsy indicated he was shot in the back with an AK-47 rifle. Police said he was apparently wearing a bulletproof vest covering his chest, which was damaged when the bullet exited through his abdomen.
Police believe Frazier shot Clark in the back as Frazier was shooting at a car driven by McElroy and Hudson.
Police issued a warrant for Frazier's arrest Sept. 19.
