'Life is Christ' to be theme of ministry convocation



Registration will cost more if made after Friday.
KENT -- "Life is Christ" will be the theme of the Diocese of Youngstown ministry convocation planned for 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 22 at Kent State University Student Center.
Bishop Robert Morneau, auxiliary bishop of the Diocese of Green Bay, Wis., will present the morning keynote address on "The Spirituality of Stewardship, Pastoral and Practical Concerns." He is pastor of Resurrection Catholic Church in Green Bay and vicar general of the diocese.
Bishop Morneau was ordained in 1966 and became a bishop in 1979. He has taught at Silver Lake College, Manitowoc, Wis., and served on various committees from 1990-97 for the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.
What's planned
The event will feature 58 workshops on biblical, theological, catechetical, liturgical and pastoral topics for people serving in parish and school ministries throughout the six-county diocese. Religious-good stores, publishing companies and diocesan offices will exhibit at the event.
The Diocese of Youngstown sponsors this annual event through the Department of Pastoral and Educational Services, the Department of Catholic Charities and the Department of Clergy and Religious Services.
Participants also will be from the North Eastern Ohio Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
Registration, which includes lunch, is $37.50 if done by Friday. Registration after that day is $50.
Participants are eligible for up to five hours of religious education certification credit. Catholic schoolteachers employed by the diocese may be eligible to earn professional development credits for Ohio certification.
