Liberty defeats LaBrae; West Branch loses

LIBERTY -- Chelsea O'Donnel had 25 points and 15 kills Thursday to lead the Liberty High volleyball team past LaBrae, 25-19, 25-21, 25-17.
Megan Kay added six blocks for the Leopards (6-5, 3-4 Trumbull Athletic Conference) while Jessie Szackas had 13 assists and five blocks, and Katie Greaf made six digs.
Maddie D'Orio led LaBrae with 20 digs and 10 kills and Lindsey Higgens had 23 assists.
Northwest 25-25-25,West Branch 19-18-20
CANAL FULTON -- Lauren Pshsniak scored 16 points and she had 17 kills, two blocks and three digs for the Warriors (7-7, 4-4 NBC) in a losing cause.
lisha Wartluft and Casey Benner added 10 point apiece.
Samantha Court scored 19 points, with four aces to pace Northwest (8-2, 7-1).
L. Green had 44 assists.
JVs: Northwest 25-22, 25-23.

NILES -- Kyle Reese scored the game's only goal as Canfield High defeated Niles 1-0 in a Metro Athletic Conference boys game.
Eric Clayton made 10 saves for the Cardinals while Niles' Joe Harvey made 13 saves.
