Board to sponsor local rabies clinics

The Mahoning County District Board of Health is sponsoring rabies vaccination clinics for dogs, cats and ferrets on two Saturdays in October, said Matthew Stefanak, county health commissioner.
Rabies shots, which will cost $2, are required for all dogs, cats and ferrets over three months of age.
The clinics dates, times and sites are:
*Oct. 1, 1 to 4 p.m., Angels for Animals, 4750 state Route 165, Beaver Township.
*Oct. 22, 1 to 4 p.m., Berlin Fire Hall, U.S. Route 224 and state Route 534.
No appointments are necessary. Dog owners must have their dogs under leash and cat owners should have their cats caged or carried in a cloth pillowcase.
