Planning director to fill chief clerk opening

NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- James Gagliano Jr. will take over Monday as Lawrence County's administrator/chief clerk.
Gagliano of North Beaver Township will leave his post as county planning director to take the job. County commissioners say Gagliano will remain director of the county municipal authority and county redevelopment authority.
Gagliano is replacing Charleen Micco, who officially retires today. Micco had been chief clerk since 1984 and has worked for the county since 1976.
Gagliano came on board as planning director in 2001. He previously worked as a planning director for Olsen Engineering in Butler, Pa.
Commissioner Dan Vogler said the county salary board will meet next week to set Gagliano's new salary. Commissioners have proposed it to be $62,500 per year. Gagliano now makes $49,138.67 per year. Micco had been making $48,837 per year.
Vogler said commissioners will advertise for a new planning director.
