MAC/SVC ROUNDUP Salem tops Howland to stay perfect in MAC

Brittany Gregory and Sarah Brobeck powered Salem to its eighth victory.
HOWLAND -- Brittany Gregory scored 11 points, with three aces, 10 kills and three blocks leading the Salem High girls volleyball team to a 25-22, 25-14, 25-21 Victory over Howland in a Metro Athletic Conference match Thursday in the Tigers' gymnasium.
Sarah Brobeck added four points with two aces, four kills and four blocks for the Quakers, who remained unbeaten in the conference (8-4, 5-0 MAC).
Brittany Kelly led the Tigers (8-3, 4-1 MAC) with five points, five kills, 18 assists and six digs.
Taylor Summerfield added two points, 18 kills, six assists and five digs. Melissa Lubert had four points, four kills and five digs.

POLAND -- Ashley Conger made eight points , 12 assists, 17 digs and 14 kills for the Bulldogs (3-5, 2-3 MAC).
Jenna Kazmierczak scored 15 points and made 10 digs while Doni Muransky scored eight points and made six digs and 10 kills.
For the Wildcats (4-10, 1-4), Jennifer McLaughlin made 12 points, 12 kills, six blocks and nine digs. Jeanette McLaughlin had 15 points, 12 kills, three blocks and 21 digs.

NILES -- Nora Campana scored seven points with two aces and made nine assists for Canfield (6-7, 3-2 MAC). Kelsey Owen made 11 digs, five kills and nine points with two aces.
Courtney Rothbauer scored nine points with four aces and made 11 digs and six assists. Jackie Nentwick made 14 digs, seven kills and three points.
For Niles, Christy Mickel had nine assists while Amanda Binion scored six points.

YOUNGSTOWN -- Senior outside hitter Antaya James had 12 points and 11 kills; junior middle blocker Antoinette Smith had three aces and two blocks; senior outside hitter Breonna Rivers had four digs and six kills and sophomore setter Jacquela Teamor had nine assists for Chaney (7-2, 5-0 SVC).
