BOARDMAN Township man charged with threats at school

BOARDMAN -- A 71-year-old township man was charged with felony making terroristic threats and misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest and obstructing official business, accused of threatening people at St. Charles School.
Donald Rodenbaugh of Amberwood Trail was allowed into the locked Westview Drive school through a buzzer system shortly after 3 p.m. Wednesday and told a school employee that he was going to "blow up 100 students," according to a police report.
The woman told police that the man then said that the students were OK and that maybe he would blow up the adults.
He then started talking about a Boardman band concert that St. Charles pupils had attended and handed the school employee his business card before leaving.
Police found him
School employees called police, who used the business card to locate Rodenbaugh at his home.
School employees identified Rodenbaugh as the person who made the threats.
Rodenbaugh refused to allow an officer to check him for weapons and fought with the officers who arrested him. Police said that Rodenbaugh didn't have any weapons at his home or at the school.
He acknowledged being at the school to police but said he didn't remember what was discussed, according to the report. He was released after posting bond.
The school principal couldn't be reached to comment.
