XYoungstown Branch of the American Association of University Women will meet at 10 a.m. Oct. 1 at 1310 Park Vista North. XMembers of the American Hungarian Club are reminded to take a casserole for the bacon fry to be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the clubroom on Donald Avenue. A meeting will follow at 7:30 p.m. Items will be accepted at the meeting or on Friday for the Oct. 1 flea market.
XAustintown Eagles 3298 will have the kitchen open for members only for lunches from noon to 2 p.m. and for dinners from 4 to 8:30 p.m.. Mondays through Fridays.
XEmbroiderer's Guild of America Inc. will hold meetings at 10 a.m. and at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Todd Murdock will preside. XLe Cercle Francais will sponsor a six-course French dinner prepared according to authentic French recipes at A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St., Canfield, with a reception at 5 p.m. and dinner at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 2. The entree will be veal stew marengo on rice. In place of the veal, a fish entree also can be requested. The cost of the dinner including beverage will be $20 per person. XOhio Cultural Alliance will meet at 6 p.m. Oct. 3 at St. Lucy Social Center, 394 Tenney Ave., Campbell. The topic will be "Enriching Elements of Life: Religion." The speaker will be Monsignor John Ashton, Ph.D., pastor of St. Lucy Church, biblical scholar. Cultural enrichment will be provided by the Phillips Chapel CME Church male chorus. The cost of this event is $11 for each paid member and $16 for each non-member. (Reminder: The yearly $25 membership runs from Sept. through June and is per person.) Bring a friend. XSt. Jude Women's Guild is sponsoring the kick-off luncheon for the 2005-2006 season of the Columbiana Christian Women. The luncheon will be at noon to 2:30 p.m. Oct. 10 at 180 Seventh St., Columbiana. The cost is $4 a person, with an additional $1 donation for the speaker who is Shirley Griffin of Lisbon.
