Youngstown man is accused of robbery at Gabriel Brothers

BOARDMAN -- A Youngstown man was charged with aggravated robbery and obstructing official business, accused of threatening a security guard at a U.S. Route 224 store with a pair of pliers.
Police were called after a man, later identified as Charles D. Pilson, 36, of East Philadelphia Avenue, pulled the pliers on a guard at Gabriel Brothers Tuesday evening and ran out of the store.
The guard had confronted Pilson as he was leaving the store allegedly without paying for three pairs of women's sunglasses and a pair of shoes, a police report said.

Police caught up with him on Doral Drive and found a pair of needle-nose pliers in the back pocket of his jeans. When an officer asked why he had them, Pilson said that he pulled them out on the store guard, according to a police report.
The guard also identified Pilson as the suspect. He was arrested and was uncooperative with police, being verbally abusive and refusing to be fingerprinted, the report said.
