Spartans stay perfect in Federal



A late goal gave Fitch a 2-2 tie with Hoover.
CANTON -- Freshman Chloe Zidian had two goals and Danielle Deley and Katie Stoll each added one as the Boardman High girls soccer team stayed unbeaten in the Federal League with a 4-1 win over Canton McKinley on Wednesday.
Mallory Hay, Alex Lynch and Jessica Winters had assists for Boardman (4-3-2, 3-0-1), which got three saves from Lani Vlad.
Missy Hofmeister scored for the Bulldogs.
Fitch 2, Hoover 2
AUSTINTOWN -- Jessyca Shuttleworth's goal with 13:01 left in the game on an assist by Erica Borgman pulled Fitch into a 2-2 tie with Hoover.
The Falcons (3-3-3, 1-0-2) made it 2-1 on Jodi Bowlen's goal.
Jackie Nicodemo had both goals for Hoover (3-5-2, 2-1-1), which led 2-0 at halftime. JVs: Hoover 1-0.
Beaver Local 2, Warren JFK 1
WARREN -- Brittany Dowd and Andrea Eisenhart each had a goal for Beaver Local (2-5-1) in a Steel Valley Conference game.
Jacque Mohney scored for Warren JFK (6-3-2), while Jenna Gilmore and Jacqee Lombardi each had five saves.
Poland 2, Niles 0
POLAND -- Jessi Toth and Sarah Anderson scored a goal and each had an assist for the Bulldogs (6-2, 3-1) in the Metro Athletic Conference game.
Kelsy Mikesell had six saves for the Red Dragons (7-3, 1-3). Pam Sure had three saves and Sam Stanich had two for the Bulldogs.
Canfield 4, Salem 1
SALEM -- Noelle Fox had two goals and one assist while Liz Vernal had one goal and two assists to lead Canfield (7-2-1, 2-2 MAC).
Audra Frimpong also had one goal while Kaley Donovan contributed an assist. Zahra Scullion scored the only goal for Salem (5-5 overall).
Champion 5, Girard 2
CHAMPION -- Brittany Bako and Eliza Slama scored two goals apiece for the Golden Flashes (6-3-2). Jessica Bennett added the other goal.
Alyssa Boggess had two assists for Champion. Gina Calderone, Stephane Rable and Beth Sayers each had one.
Katie Cretella and Kelli Miegs each scored a goal for the Indians (2-7). Krista Kirkpatrick had an assist.
Shayla Adams had 13 saves for the Indians.
Maplewood 5,Pymatuning Valley 1
ANDOVER -- Kristina Peterson scored three goals to spark the Rockets (5-2-3, 3-0-1 Northeastern Athletic Conference). Tori Spencer and Michelle Sloan added a goal apiece.
Peterson, Spencer, Sloan and Ellie Engstrom each had an assist.
Tanya Lazeravick scored the goal for Pymatuning Valley.
Bonnee Clute had two saves for the Rockets. Amber Reynolds had 15 saves for the Lakers.
Badger 4, Bristol 1
BRISTOLVILLE -- Hannah Miller had three goals and an assist for Badger while Shannon Sudon had a goal and an assist. Cayla Arnold also had a goal for the Braves (5-3, 3-1) and Katy Dvorack had 13 saves.
Trisha Helmick had a goal and Kylie Robertson had nine saves for Bristol (3-5-2, 1-2-1).

LIBERTY -- Jon Mullins scored four goals and Kevin Copenhaver had two goals and three assists for Lakeview (9-1-0), which beat Liberty 6-2.
Logan Reinard had two assists and Patrick Arbuckle added eight saves.
For Liberty (3-4-2), Brent Callihan had two goals and Eric Saddle had two assists. Jeremy Hume had 12 saves. JVs: Lakeview 3-2.
