Lakeview records 10th win with sweep over Howland

The Bulldogs improved to 10-1, while the Tigers suffered their second loss.
HOWLAND -- Lauren McCumber had 12 kills, three blocks and a dig to lead the Lakeview High volleyball team past Howland 26-24, 25-18, 25-10 on Wednesday.
Lindsay Whetzel added 11 kills and eight digs and Michelle Antonelli had two aces and 29 assists for Lakeview (10-1).
Brittany Kelly led the Tigers (8-2) with five points, five kills, nine assists and three blocks. Taylor Summerfield had six points, two aces, three assists, two blocks and three digs. Brittany Turner had four points and three kills. JVs: Lakeview 25-18, 25-13.

BROOKFIELD -- Morgan Bonekovic had 15 kills, 11 points, five blocks and four digs, Andrea Gladis had 14 kills, eight points, 13 digs and three aces and Courtney Christy had 10 points, 11 digs and eight kills for Brookfield (5-8, 3-4 Trumbull Athletic Conference).
Jessie Okney had eight points and five kills, Chelsea O'Donnel had 10 kills and 17 points and Jessie Szackas had eight points and 14 assists for Liberty.

NEWTON FALLS -- Brandi Lance had eight points, seven aces and 13 assists to lead Newton Falls (2-7).
Blaine Chapman had nine assists and three aces, Kelsey McGregor had seven kills and Brittany Zickefoose had three blocks for the Tigers. JVs: Newton Falls 25-25, 17-23.

YOUNGSTOWN -- Brittany Bleggi had 14 points, six aces and six kills while Dayna Daltorio had 14 points and two aces for Mooney.
Victoria Kocanjer added three kills, three aces and 10 points for Mooney (11-0).

NEW MIDDLETOWN -- Nora McKelvey scored 19 points to lead Springfield in an Inter-County League match.
Whitney Yeager added five points, seven kills and five blocks for the Tigers (10-5, 6-1) and Brittany Schrieber finished with three points and 11 kills.
Jackie Scaranek led the Rockets (2-9, 1-6) with four points and six kills. Rachel Mariotti had two points, three assists and three kills.

NEW WATERFORD -- Elyse Mongillo scored 14 points, with an ace and six kills for the Rebels (12-0). Tricia Richards had 28 kills, seven blocks, 21 digs and two points. Kristen Harroff added nine points, 12 kills, two blocks, 14 digs and an ace.
Michelle McClure led Streetsboro (10-1) with seven points, nine kills and two blocks. Kaylene Way had seven points, 10 kills and six digs.
