Judge revokes bondfor Youngstown man
YOUNGSTOWN -- Judge Jack M. Durkin of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court ordered that a $100,000 bond be revoked Tuesday for a man out on an aggravated-robbery charge who has been arrested on an attempted-murder charge.
Antwan Lanier, 22, of East Midlothian Boulevard, was released on the bond April 12.
Earlier this month, police arrested him on warrants charging him with a July 27 attempted murder and aggravated robbery.
A hearing is scheduled for Sept. 30.

Woman dies after crash
GREENVILLE, Pa. -- A Jamestown woman died after a weekend crash on Hadley Road in Hempfield Township. Police said Michelle Moore, 25, of North Good Hope Road, was traveling west when her sport utility vehicle crossed the road and hit a tree at 10:41 a.m. Sunday.
The vehicle caught fire, and the flames were put out by a passing motorist.
Moore died later at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown.
Police said they don't know why Moore's vehicle crossed the road before the crash.
Heart-restart devices
BAZETTA -- Township trustees have given Police Chief Charles Sayers authority to buy eight automatic external defibrillators, AED, for use in patrol cars. The device provides an electric shock to a heart to restart it.
Since police are often the first on the scene of a cardiac arrest, use of an AED gives the victim a better chance of surviving.
The equipment costs $14,547, with businesses contributing $8,935 and the township paying $5,612.
Farm offers activities
COLUMBIANA -- Detwiler Farm, 4520 Renkenberger Road, will offer autumn-related activities from noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through October.
There will be hayrides to the 10-acre pumpkin patch, a straw maze, four-acre cornfield maze, petting zoo, fall decorations, apples and cider.
A Civil War living history program will be Oct. 1 and 2 and 8 and 9.

Author to discuss FBI
WARREN -- Crime author and former FBI agent Jim Fisher will discuss "The Decline of the FBI" during a free lecture at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 28 at the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, 444 Mahoning Ave. N.W.
Fisher, a Vanderbilt University Law School graduate, was with the FBI from 1966-72.
He is professor emeritus of criminal justice at Edinboro University in Pennsylvania, where he taught criminal investigation, criminal law and forensic science.
He is the author of six nonfiction books and was twice nominated for the Mystery Writers of America's Edgar Allen Poe Award.
Board moves meeting
BROOKFIELD -- The Brookfield Board of Education has changed its September meeting from today to 10 a.m. Saturday in the high school cafeteria with a work session at 9:30 a.m.
Seminar on living wills
BOARDMAN -- Boardman Christian Church, 565 Boardman-Canfield Road, will sponsor a seminar Sept. 28 on "Living Wills and Durable Power of Attorney."
A light dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. and a free-will offering will be taken to cover the cost.
The program, to be presented by a representative of the law office of Betras-Harshman, will follow.
