Youngstowner held in Hubbard robbery

HUBBARD -- A Youngstown man is held in Trumbull County jail, charged in a robbery early Monday.
City police said Frank Hall, 45, of Youngstown, robbed the Circle K store on West Liberty Street about 2:40 a.m. Officers did not say what happened when Hall entered the store, but they did say no weapon was shown. Police did not have a street address for Hall.
Police said an officer noticed Hall leaving the store and began following the car he was driving. A robbery was reported at the store while the officer was following Hall's car. The officer, police said, tried to pull Hall over, but he refused to stop.
Hall, police said, eventually crashed into a telephone pole and drove the car down a ravine on Parkview Drive before getting out of the car and running.
Police searched for Hall for about one hour before finding him hiding in a ditch in the Parkview Drive area.
Sharon Police Department's canine unit and Hubbard Township police were called in to help in the search.
