Park addresses road problems

CANFIELD -- Mill Creek Park commissioners have allocated up to $50,000 more to address problems with roads that were worsened by heavy rains of 2003 and 2004.
The additional money allocated at the commissioners' meeting Monday follows $100,000 set aside by the board last month to address problems on West Drive.
The shoulder along the road started to slip about three years ago, said Susan Dicken, park executive director.
"It's a critical location," she said. "It's parallel to the wall garden."
The money allocated Monday will address the West Drive problem as well as to repair pavement on Glacier Drive and Robinson Hill. The allocations leave about $1.1 million in the park's reserve, commissioners said.
