Oakland Center for the Arts to present acoustic music show

YOUNGSTOWN -- The Oakland Center for the Arts, 220 W. Boardman St., downtown, will present a night of acoustic music with Robin Stone and Alexis Antes at 8 p.m. Saturday.
A wine and cheese reception will precede the show, beginning at 7 p.m. in the Oakland's Star Gallery. On exhibit will be the works of Pittsburgh artist Leyna Bonanno, who works primarily in oils.
Stone, a native Clevelander, has released two albums: "My Heart" in 2001 and "RushMore" in 2003. Her third album, "Not Finished Yet," is in production.
Musically, Stone mixes the energy of Dave Matthews with the elegant delivery of Natalie Cole.
She performs regularly at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and has shared bills with Bonnie Raitt, Lyle Lovett, Jewel, James Taylor and Bela Fleck & amp; the Flecktones.
In 2003, singer-songwriter Antes, also of Cleveland, released "All Come Down," which is her latest album and the follow-up to 1998's "Stronger."
She has shared the stage with such artists as Jewel, Paula Cole, Sarah McLachlan, Sheryl Crow, James Taylor, Melissa Etheridge, Jonatha Brooke, Joan Armatrading, Blessid Union of Souls, Stephen Stills and Dan Fogelberg.
Since her band Odd Girl Out split up, Antes has been refining her own skills as a solo artist, touring relentlessly throughout the Midwest and East Coast.
Tickets for the event are $15 for adults and $12 for students. To reserve tickets, or for additional information, call (330) 746-0404.
