Library presents poetry reading, book signing
POLAND -- People who have survived cancer or care about someone who has struggled with the disease are invited to a poetry reading and book signing at the Friends Bookstore in Poland Branch Library at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Author Brenda Ryder, whose book "There's Hope in What We Do" will share a message of hope that she and her fellow poets learned as they faced cancer. Each of these individuals found strength and power in writing about their thoughts and feelings as they faced their personal health challenges.
This appearance by Brenda Ryder is hosted by the Friends of the Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County. The organization supports programs and services which benefit the children, teens and adults who served by all the libraries in the countywide system.
Friends membership is open to anyone in the community and offers interesting volunteer challenges as well as discounts at the Friends Bookstore and the Chapters Caf & eacute;. To become a Friend of the Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County, contact Deborah Liptak by e-mail at dliptak@libraryvisit.org or visit your library on the Web at www.libraryvisit.org.
