Grange fair will get $14,950 state grant

SHARON, Pa. -- The Mercer County Grange Fair will receive a $14,950 state grant for the installation of a new security and safety lighting system at the fairgrounds in Stoneboro.
The money comes from a $1.2 million matching grant program intended to promote the state's agricultural heritage. The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture oversees the program as part of the Capital Improvement Matching Grant Program.
Grants were approved during a recent Fair Advisory Board meeting. The capital improvement program is part of the larger $4.4 million PA Fair Fund. The fund assists fairs with annual operating costs and offers financial support to youth organizations across the state with an agricultural mission.
