Book talks to focus on cloning and religion

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- A new organization at Grove City College will offer three book talks this fall on the relation of religion and stem cell research and cloning.
The Society for Science, Faith and Technology has selected a book for discussion from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Sept. 26, Oct. 24 and Nov. 28 in the Great Room of the Student Union on the campus.
The book, "God and the Embryo: Religious Voices on Stem Cells and Cloning," by Ron Cole-Turner and Brent Waters, looks at scientific subjects from different religious perspectives.
The group and the talks, under the guidance of Dr. Kevin Seybold, are open to students, staff, alumni and friends.
Those interested may contact Seybold for a complimentary copy of the book. He may be reached at (724) 458-2002 or ksseybold@gcc.edu.
The initiation of the Society for Science, Faith and Technology was made possible by a grant from the Metanexus Institute on Religion and Science. Grove City College faculty members on the steering committee for the initiative included Seybold, Dr. Paul Kemeny, Dr. Myron Bright, Dr. Richard Trammel, Richard Leo and Dr. Durwood Ray.
