Meetings to answer questions on levies
NEW SPRINGFIELD -- Two meetings have been set to give Springfield Township residents a chance to ask questions about police and fire levies that will appear on the November ballot.
Police Chief Matthew Mohn and Fire Chief Brian Hughes announced when township trustees met Wednesday that the meetings are set for 7 p.m. Sept. 29 at the township building at 3475 E. South Range Road, and 7 p.m. Oct. 3 at the Springfield Fire Station, 13775 Woodworth Road, New Springfield.
Mohn said the meetings will be in a question-and-answer format. Hughes added he expects to schedule three more meetings before the Nov. 8 election.
New five-year, 1-mill fire and police levy requests will appear on the ballot. Voters defeated a 1-mill police levy last November.
