"HEAD CASES" on FOX
"Head Cases" (9 p.m., Fox): Odd-couple law partners (Chris O'Donnell and Adam Goldberg), one of them until recently the "golden boy" of a prestigious firm, find salvation of sorts in serving underdog clients. Krista Allen and Richard Kind also star in this new "comedic drama" series.
"TV Land Confidential" (10 p.m., TV Land): "Untold stories" of famous shows and their stars are the basis of this new series that will continue on Wednesdays through Oct. 26. Tonight's topic is "Network Notes" -- corporate reactions to issues of the moment. For example, tonight we'll learn just what happened when Barbara Eden found out that she was pregnant on the same day that NBC agreed to air "I Dream of Jeannie."
"Inside the NFL" (10 p.m., HBO): Now that Week 1 of the NFL season is history, the gang returns with more than a few thoughts on what it all means. This is the 29th season for "Inside the NFL," making it cable's longest-running series. This year's lineup is the same as last season's -- Cris Carter, Cris Collinsworth, Bob Costas and Dan Marino.
"Ernest Hemingway: Rivers to the Sea" (9 p.m., PBS): This new American Masters documentary explores the life and work of an author still widely read more than 40 years after his death. Hemingway's profile was more akin to a movie star than a reclusive author; he wrote freely about his own interests and experiences.
"Made In the USA" (10 p.m., USA): An inventive new reality series, "Made in the USA" lets America's undiscovered inventors compete for a chance to pitch their creation for a year on Home Shopping Network. Contestants participate in real-life challenges that inventors typically deal with in getting their products into the marketplace. Each week, one product and one inventor team is eliminated. Judges include Nolan Bushnell (inventor of the video game Pong), industrial-design expert Karim Rashid and "mom-to-millionaire" Joy Mangano, who has sold millions of her Miracle Mops and Huggable Hangers on HSN.
