SALEM -- Steve Gavolas scored the only goal of the game in the first half on an assist by Dain Malaniak, as Poland High edged Salem 1-0 in a boys soccer game Tuesday.
The Bulldogs (5-1, 2-1 Metro Athletic Conference) had nine shots on goal and the Quakers (1-4-1) had two.
Caleb Markusic had two saves for the Bulldogs.

NILES -- Zack Byler, Ryan Gerin and Sumit Kovoor scored a goal apiece for the Tigers (5-2, 2-0 MAC).
Ian Jones and Chris Cole each had an assist.
Joe Harvey of Niles had 10 saves.
Massillon Jackson 4, Fitch 3
AUSTINTOWN -- Tony Baraldi's goal with 1:53 remaining snapped a 3-3 tie to give Jackson the win. Baraldi also had two assists.
Cam McCreary led Jackson (5-0, 3-0 Federal League) with three goals.
For Fitch (3-3, 1-2) Brad Hrinko led the attack with three goals, while Mike Giannini and Nick Bowlen each had one assist.
Jackson goalie John Brubach had seven saves and Fitch goalie Andrew Monk had 19 saves.

BOARDMAN -- Sam Ragan scored Boardman's lone goal on a free kick.

HUBBARD -- Tyler Miller, Raphael Lima and R.J. Lee scored goals for the Eagles (2-1-1, 1-1 Trumbull Athletic Conference). Dominic DiMauro and Miller each had an assist.
Bo Angel had 12 saves for the Vikings (1-1-1). Joe Cummings, Gaylen Hayek and Steve Griffith combined for 11 saves for the Eagles.
West Branch 4, Louisville 0
BELOIT -- John Wallace scored two goals for West Branch (5-1-1) and Aaron Cronin and Matt McCain added a goal apiece. Nathan Diehl, Joe Starkey and Tate Drennan each had a save for West Branch.

AUSTINTOWN -- Hannah Snyder had three goals while Mariah Snyder, Elizabeth Emanuel and Katelin Steele had two apiece to pace Ursuline over Youngstown Christian, 12-1.
Kara Cooper had the only goal for Youngstown Christian (1-3).
Youngstown Christian goalie Amanda Vestal had 34 saves.

NEWTON FALLS -- Nikki Bevilacqua had three goals while Allie Nero scored two for Lakeview (5-3). Freshman Miranda Holko had two assists and Amy Downs added one.
Casee Piquet scored for Newton Falls (2-4-2, 1-3) on an assist by Mary Jo Spletzer.
Allison Snyder and Amanda Pagano had five saves each for the Tigers, and Lakeview's Lindsey Mellott had one save.
