Mom facing charges of endangering two children

An unsuccessful attempt was made to take the children, police said.
YOUNGSTOWN -- The mother who police said allowed her two children to go for a walk with a man later charged with abducting them now faces charges of endangering children.
Linda Dick, 25, of Carroll Street, was arrested Sunday and arraigned Monday in municipal court. Judge Robert A. Douglas Jr. set bond at $5,000, with electronically monitored house arrest if she posts bond. He also ordered that she have no contact with the children. Dick will be back in court Sept. 29.
Her companion, Donald Kinack, 27, same address, was also arrested Sunday on an aggravated burglary charge but the charge hasn't been filed yet. Police said Dick and Kinack went to a Second Street address in an attempt to take her children, a girl, 7, and a boy, 4.
Kinack, who was wanted on a receiving stolen property warrant out of Trumbull County, complained of chest pains and was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center to be checked out Sunday, but was in Mahoning County Jail on Monday afternoon.
Man charged with abduction
The children were placed at the Second Street address after being found around 1 a.m. Friday on the North Side with Robert Brown, 40, of Ravenna. Brown is charged with two counts of abduction and two counts of endangering children, and his bond is $410,000. He will be back in court Friday.
Police said Dick allowed Brown to take the children for a walk at 4 p.m. Thursday and he didn't return. A Wirt Street resident told police that Brown intended to leave the state with the children.
Brown's criminal background includes drug and weapons offenses, theft, burglary and corruption of a minor, an assistant city prosecutor has said.
