Man given 4 years for part in robbery

YOUNGSTOWN -- Keith W. Guy Jr., 21, of South Portland Avenue, will spend four years in prison for his part in a robbery.
Judge R. Scott Krichbaum of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court issued the sentence Tuesday. Guy pleaded guilty to the charge in July and will also will serve three years parole when he is released.
Guy and an accomplice, a cousin who was a juvenile, burst into the Palm Cafe on Steel Street about 10 p.m. April 26 and ordered patrons to the floor. One robber pointed a gun -- which turned out to be a BB gun -- at the owner and demanded he open the cash register.
Guy told Judge Krichbaum he has had a drug problem since he was 10 years old and apologized for the robbery. Judge Krichbaum cited Guy's previous trespass conviction and five stints on probation from past cases.
