XBOARDMAN -- Lumi Strimbu, 213 Collingwood Court, Cranberry Township, Pa., and Dr. Jason Daniel Bakos, 104 Keepers Court, Chapin, S.C., were married during a 2 p.m. ceremony Aug. 20 at St. Charles Church.
The Rev. Dan Venglarik officiated for the daughter of Valeriu and Gabriela Str & acirc;mbu of Brasov, Romania, and the son of Dr. Jack and Patsy Bakos, 7900 Walnut St., Boardman.
A reception was held at the Holiday Inn MetroPlex in Liberty. The couple have postponed their wedding trip to the Caribbean until Christmas and live at the groom's address.
Crystals, sequins and pearls enhanced the bride's strapless, princess-style gown. It featured a corset bodice, full skirt and a train.
The honor attendant, Kaori Iwasaki, and the bridesmaids, Natalie Napolitano and Nicole Williams, the groom's cousins, and Leena Rosile and Amy Silver wore black gowns. Flower girls were the groom's nieces, Erin and Sydney Eley, in white gowns.
Mark Eley was best man for his brother-in-law, and groomsmen were Silviu Str & acirc;mbu, the bride's brother; Brad Williams, the groom's cousin; Chris Rosile and Pete Rosile.
A graduate of Youngstown State University with a master's degree in international trade, the bride was an associate broker with Helmsman Insurance Agency in Pittsburgh. The groom, an assistant professor at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a doctorate in computer science.
