Champion girls blank Liberty; Poland beats Salem

Warren JFK and Beaver Local tied in a boys match.
CHAMPION -- Brittany Bako and Brittany Skeels each scored twice Monday as the Champion High girls soccer team defeated Liberty, 6-0.
Alyssa Boggess and Jessica Bennett also netted goals for the Golden Flashes (4-2-1, 3-0 Trumbull Athletic Conference).
Bako, Boggess, Skeels, Eliza Slama and Erika Stevens had assists.
Liberty (0-7-1, 0-2 TAC) goalkeeper Michelle Dykes made 25 saves.
Poland 4, Salem 1
SALEM -- Sarah Anderson, Maureen Malone, Shelby Ludt and Jessica Mullis scored for the Bulldogs (4-1, 1-0 Metro Athletic Conference).
Felicia Delisio had two assists and Jessie Toth and Ashley Luthern had one apiece. Goalkeeper Sam Stanich made three saves.
For the Quakers (4-3, 0-2), Dana Webb scored and Sarah James made six saves.
Boardman 3 Hubbard 1
BOARDMAN -- Boardman outshot Hubbard 29-3 which led to the Spartans' third victory of the season.
Liz Schobel, Mallory Hay and Lea Byers scored for the Spartans (3-3-0). Hay, Byers and Danielle Deley had assists.
JVs: Boardman, 5-0.
Warren JFK 8, Girard 0
GIRARD -- Lexie Polivka and Roxy Hoerig each scored two goals while Jenn Natale, Sarah Moffett, Jacque Mohney and Taylor Gee scored once.
Earning assists were Kellie Kovac with two and Moffett and Lauren Perisa with one.
JFK goalkeeper Jenna Gilmore made eight saves while C. Boyce made 10 and S. Adams three for the Indians.
Boys
WARREN -- Freshman Mike Perisa scored in the final 10 minutes to help Warren JFK battle to a 2-2 tie against Beaver Local.
Ed Hazboun also scored for the Eagles (3-1-2) while Jack Weaver had an assist. Jarrod Satmare and Nick Pfeil scored for Beaver Local (1-4-2)
Matt Kokrak had five saves in goal for JFK, while Mike Ferguson made 14 for the Beavers.
Mooney 4, Oberlin 3
OBERLIN -- With about four minutes remaining, freshman forward Hector Hernandez scored from in close to snap a 3-3 tie.
Hernandez and senior midfielder Zach Hernan each scored twice for the Cardinals (4-1-1).
Sean Sullivan and Kyle Buxman recorded assists for Mooney while goalie Andrew Loudon had six saves.
Oberlin is 5-3. The match was tied 2-2 at the break.
Liberty 6, Warren Harding 2
LIBERTY -- Ron Hunkus scored two goals and Pat Mc Garry had a goal and an assist for the Leopards (3-1-2).
Max Alper, Brian Sehon and Jared Hideg each scored a goal and Eric Saddle assisted on three scores.
Leopards goalkeeper Jeremy Hume saved six shots and Steve King had 18 saves for Harding (3-4).
JVs: Liberty 1, Warren Harding 1.
Heartland Christian 3, Jefferson Co. 2
STEUBENVILLE -- Mike Barborak scored twice including on a penalty kick to break a 2-2 tie for the Lions (5-1).
Tyler Burgess also scored for the Lions.
