Boardman firefighters get funds for rescues

BOARDMAN -- The Fraternal Order of Eagles, Ohio State Aerie, awarded the township fire department $10,000 to buy rescue tools.
The department was encouraged by the lodge in March to apply for funding for a public service project. The department applied for vehicle rescue equipment based on responding to more than 400 vehicles accidents annually.
Many of the tools the department uses in responding to accidents are about 30 years old. The cost to replace all of the tools is about $32,650.
