Arson investigators seek cause of fatal fire

YOUNGSTOWN -- City arson investigators continue looking for the cause of a fire that killed a man on the city's North Side.
City firefighters found a man in his 40s dead inside a burning house at 407 Norwood Ave. that no one should have been living in, said Capt. Alvin Ware, commander of the arson bureau.
Ware said the two-story house had no utilities and was in poor condition. He said the victim's identity would be released after next of kin was notified, and the cause of death would be released by the coroner after an autopsy.
No identification information was available Monday night.
A neighbor heard an explosion and called the fire in at 1:02 a.m. Monday, Ware said. The victim was found in a second-floor bathroom. Ware said the fire started on the front porch, possibly from a Molotov cocktail.
