ART SHOWS
XYWCA of Youngstown is now accepting entries for its annual "Women Artists: A Celebration" art show at Butler Institute of American Art Trumbull Branch in Howland. Women artists 18 and older are eligible to enter original work, including painting, drawing, graphics, photography, sculpture, fiber, ceramics, metal work and computer-generated art. The show will accept slide entries only. There is a maximum of five entries per artist and a nonrefundable fee of $5 per entry. Deadline for slide entries is Nov. 2. Approximately $1,000 in merit prizes will be awarded. The exhibit will be available for public viewing Jan. 22 to Feb. 12, 2006. A patron party and artists' reception will be held Jan. 28. ARTS AND CRAFTS SHOWS
XArtists are invited to participate in an art and craft show to be sponsored by artists, Celesta Moran, Bette Irwin and Twila Kapcos, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 25 at Stacy Pavilion in Austintown Township Park, 6000 Kirk Road. The entry fee is $20 for a table, and proceeds will benefit the park. For entry forms or more information, call Moran at (330) 799-1652. The deadline for entries is Sept. 21.
AUCTIONS
XYoungstown Saxon Club, 710 S. Meridian Road, will hold a Chinese auction at 2 p.m. Sunday to benefit the scholarship fund. The cost is $3.
CARD AND BINGO PARTIES
XInfant of Jesus Prague Guild of St. Joseph the Provider Church is sponsoring its annual bingo and card party at 2 p.m. Sunday at the church hall, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell. Refreshments and prizes will be provided. The cost is $4.
XSt. Stephen of Hungary Altar and Rosary Society is having a bingo and card party at 2 p.m. Sunday at 854 Wilson Ave., Youngstown. There will be a light lunch, door prizes and a raffle for $4.
XVeterans of Foreign Wars Post 9571 Auxiliary will be hosting its second annual card party and Chinese auction at 1 p.m. Sundayat Ellsworth VFW Post 9571, 11397 Ellsworth Road. The cost is $5 per person. Proceeds will benefit Veterans Administration hospitals and outpatient clinics in Youngstown and Warren. SALES
XGood Hope Lutheran Church, 98 Homestead Drive, Boardman, will hold a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday with no early sales. Sponsors of the sales are the WELCA Women's Group, choir, Cancer Relay Team and the youth group. The youth group will be selling ice cream sundaes to help pay for their trip to San Antonio. XWomen of the Church of God at New Springfield Church of God, 3649 E. Garfield Road, New Springfield, will hold a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 11:30 am. Friday. Lunch will be available Thursday, and Friday will be $1 a bag day. Bags will be provided.
XWestminster Presbyterian Church, 119 Stadium Drive, Boardman, will hold its 15th annual trash and treasure sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Most items will cost 25 cents.
SPECIAL EVENTS

TOURS
XHoly Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, 505 Parkcliffe Ave., is sponsoring a New York City excursion Oct. 7 and 8. The trip will include visits to shops, theaters, restaurants and points of interest in the area. The bus will leave from McDonald's on Belmont Avenue, Liberty, at 11 a.m. Oct. 7, and light refreshments will be provided. There will be an on-your-own breakfast stop.
