Survivorship event set at area hospital



Forum Health TMH has started a tradition other hospitals have adopted.
WARREN -- Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital will celebrate the 16th annual Cancer Survivorship Day from 2 to 4 p.m. next Sunday at W.D. Packard Music Hall, 1703 Mahoning Ave.
The free event for cancer survivors, their families and friends is open to the public. This event offers a day for family and friends to come together and celebrate life.
Inspirational and healing, the celebration features:
UPoetry readings by cancer survivor Brenda Rider, author of "There's Hope In What We Do."
USeveral musical selections performed by the ROCcK (Raising Our Commitment to Cancer Kids) children's choir, a group composed of cancer survivors, their friends and siblings.
UCheryl Warfield, Warren native and New York Metropolitan Opera singer, who will sing two gospel selections.
UA variety of social, relationship and healing activities facilitated by the Forum Health Cancer CareCenter team, which includes the opportunity for all participants to create a Bottle of Hope craft that will be showcased at area cancer care centers.
Butterfly release
A live butterfly release by cancer survivors on the lawn of the music hall will culminate the event.
Now a tradition, TMH began releasing live butterflies more than 10 years ago. Since then, hospitals throughout the country have adopted the butterfly as a symbol of life.
Forum Health's Cancer CareCenters and the Trumbull Memorial Hospital Foundation is sponsoring the event.
