PRESENTATION Valley Legacy names nominees for awards

Civic-minded individuals and organizations will be honored at a luncheon.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Valley Legacy Awards will be presented by the Shepherd of the Valley to five outstanding seniors and one outstanding senior advocate at a noon luncheon to be held Oct. 6 at the Holiday Inn MetroPlex Centre in Liberty. The event will begin with registration at 11:30 a.m.
The Valley Legacy Awards honor civic-minded seniors and individuals for their senior advocacy efforts and their contributions to the community.
Serving as the judges for the Outstanding Senior nominees were Ode Aduma, WKBN-TV 27; Eve Bevilacqua, Body Works owner; Leo Grimes, president and CEO of Windsor House Inc.; William Mottice, retired executive director of the American Red Cross in Trumbull County; Dr. John Robertson, professor at Kent State University, Trumbull Campus; Dr. Jim Snelson, dentist; and Chuck Whitman, retired director of career services at Youngstown State University.
Judges selecting the Outstanding Senior Advocate nominees were Carolyn Andrews, community volunteer; Danna Clifford, Area XI Agency on Aging; Maureen Drummond, RSVP; Mark Ludwick, owner of Senior News; Cheryl Oblinger, executive director of American Red Cross, Trumbull County; and Julie Michael Smith, regional representative, Ohio Department of Development.
