"U.S. Open Tennis" (8 p.m., CBS): The two-week marathon at New York's National Tennis Center reaches the women's final -- conveniently scheduled for prime time on a Saturday night, when the broadcast networks usually don't have much to offer. The men's final will be shown at 4 p.m. tomorrow.
8 p.m. on PBS
"Taxi" (8 p.m., HBO): Queen Latifah and Jimmy Fallon are unlikely partners in crime-stopping in this 2004 action comedy. She's a cab driver who likes to ignore the traffic laws, and he's a cop who needs her because he drives so badly that he's been demoted to foot patrol.
"Live From New York: The First 5 Years of 'Saturday Night Live' " (9 p.m., NBC): NBC has gotten a lot of mileage out of its "Saturday Night Live" archives, but John Belushi alone should make this special worth a second look. A lot of the show is given over to reminiscing; those looking back include original stars Dan Aykroyd, Chevy Chase, Garrett Morris and Laraine Newman.
America's Most Wanted: America Fights Back! (9 p.m., Fox): Starting its 19th season tonight, "America's Most Wanted" has become one of TV's longest-running series, and John Walsh has been the host from the beginning. Though the format has been tweaked (the expanded title came in 1996), the show has stuck to its basic appeal -- going after the bad guys.
"Ladder 49" (9 p.m., Starz): Joaquin Phoenix and John Travolta star in this 2004 movie that gives a vivid picture of the dangers that firefighters face. When the younger man is trapped in a burning high-rise, he reflects on his life, while his chief desperately tries to come up with a rescue plan.
