XYOUNGSTOWN -- The Rev. Jack Pettis officiated at the 3 p.m. ceremony at which Tanisha Howell and Dino Simmons were united in marriage Aug. 6 at Mount Zion Baptist Church.
A reception was held at St. Charles Hall in Boardman for the daughter of Janeen Runyon, 421 Willis Ave., and the son of Denise Simmons, 6075 Applecrest Court, Boardman.
After a wedding trip to Chicago, the couple live in the Youngstown area.
The bride's two-piece gown featured a strapless bodice and was adorned with embroidery, pearls and rhinestones.
Light-pink gowns were worn by the bride's aunt and honor attendant, Corrine Warren, and the bridesmaids, Shaquala Simmons, sister of the groom; Javita Harris; and Mary Clay. Flower girl was Jasmine Macklin.
Serving as best man for his cousin was Mark Wallace II, and groomsmen were Derrick Kirk and the groom's cousins, Antonio Simmons and Douglas Bailey. Junior groomsmen were Emmanuel Armour and the bride's brother, John Runyon Jr., and ring bearers were Kobe Simmons, the groom's son, and his cousin, Braylon Johnson. Guests were ushered by Ty-Juan Young.
The bride attended Youngstown State University and is a home health aide with Homecare With Heart in Boardman.
The groom, an educational assistant with Youngstown Board of Education, graduated from Western Iowa Tech in Sioux City, Iowa, with a degree in computer programming.
