Whitmer keys Bluejays' second victory in ICL



NORTH JACKSON -- Megan Whitmer scored 18 points, with two aces, and added 36 sets and seven assists to lead Jackson-Milton High to a straight set victory over Western Reserve in an Inter-County League volleyball match Thursday.
Allison Chepke added 15 points, four aces and seven kills for the Bluejays (2-0, 2-0), who won by scores of 25-18, 25-18, 25-16. Scarlett Chepke had six kills and four blocks.
Rachel Hernan led the Blue Devils (1-3, 1-3) with 14 points, nine kills and five digs.

NORTH LIMA -- Tara Chizmar made seven digs and 16 kills, Lynn O'Connell had five aces and six kills and Kaylin McCue made four digs and eight kills for the Raiders (4-3, 3-1 ICL).
For Sebring, Kayla Faudree scored 10 points with three aces and six kills. Ashley Amabeli added seven points, nine kills and seven blocks while Briana Jones scored 10 points with three aces and 16 assists for the Trojans (2-2, 2-2).

MINERAL RIDGE -- Brittany Schrieber scored nine points, with two aces and 12 kills for the Tigers (4-1, 2-1 ICL).
Christy Warren added 12 points, six aces, 10 kills and five blocks. Meghan McLaughlin scored 10 points, with three aces and 11 kills. Krista Snyder had nine points and 34 assists.
Alex Ladd led the Rams (2-2, 1-1) with 15 points, three aces and 26 assists. Rachael Siler had 11 kills with nine blocks. Jenny Frayer scored five points with four aces.

COLUMBIANA -- Tricia Richards and Kristen Harroff each made 11 kills for the Rebels (4-0, 1-0 Tri-County League). Richards also scored eight points with two aces and had five blocks and five digs.
Julia Roberts led the Rebels with 11 points including five aces, and Elyse Mongillo scored seven points and made three blocks.

WELLSVILLE -- Samantha Miller scored 11 points, with four aces and nine assists to pace the Bears (1-4, 1-3 TCL). Emily Goerig had four blocks and four kills.
Marie Keller led the Tigers (5-1, 4-0) with 13 points and four aces.
