MAHONING COMMISSIONERS Action items



Mahoning County commissioners approved these matters Thursday:
A $60,111 contract with Thomas Fok & amp; Associates, Youngstown, for engineering services for work on Western Reserve Road.
A $15,000 contract with Austintown Local Schools for a recycling promotional and educational campaign. The contract will expand the Green Team's school-based education program and pay for advertising within the Austintown district. Green Team officials want to maximize recycling in Austintown, which they said is one of the strongest areas for recycling in the county.
A $24,272 contract with Dallis Dawson & amp; Associates, East Liverpool, for engineering, design and surveying for sanitary sewers in Ellsworth Township on state Route 45 and U.S. Route 224.
A $5,417 contract with George Farris & amp; Associates, Boardman, to design and produce the Sanitary Department's 2005 summer newsletter regarding rates and upgrades.
A $6,260 contract with George Farris & amp; Associates to design and update the Sanitary Department's Power Point presentation for use at public meetings, fairs, expos and home shows.
A $14,238 contract with Utility Contracting, Youngstown, for a slope repair project on Third Street in Lowellville.
Approved closing North Hubbard Road in Coitsville Township between Oak Street and U.S. Route 422 from Monday to Sept. 30 to replace a culvert.
Closing Hitchcock Road in Boardman between Garver Drive and Western Reserve Road from Sept. 6 to Sept. 30 to replace a culvert.
A resolution to buy gasoline and diesel fuel from BP Petroleum through the state purchasing contract for $300,000. The supply is for all county departments for the rest of this year and next.
