NFL Opening Kickoff (8 p.m., ABC): A little musical hoopla to mark the official start of the football season will include performances by Green Day, Santana, Maroon 5 and Kanye West (live) and the Rolling Stones (on tape). In the game that follows at 9 p.m., the Oakland Raiders will visit the Super Bowl champion New England Patriots.
"Reunion" (9 p.m., Fox): This new drama series will follow six friends over the course of 20 years, starting with their graduation from high school in 1986. Each episode will show them a year later. The show reveals at the outset that one of them has died, but who it is -- and the circumstances of the death -- won't be disclosed until the finale.
"The O.C." (8 p.m., Fox): It's not exactly shaping up to be a joyful senior year for the kids of "The O.C.," which launches its third season tonight. Ryan and/or Marissa might face jail time for the shooting of Trey, who's clinging to life in a hospital bed. Meanwhile, Seth's mom is still in rehab, and scheming Julie Cooper is up to her old tricks again. New cast member Jeri Ryan must be wondering just what she got her self into.
