Tod Children's Hospital unveils stamp
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Child Health Commemorative Stamp, issued to heighten public awareness of childhood illnesses and what can be done to prevent them, was unveiled Wednesday at Tod Children's Hospital and other sites across the nation.
Youngstown Postmaster Larry Minniear and John Gonda, director of marketing and public relations for Forum Health, introduced the stamp, which depicts the silhouette of a physician placing a stethoscope on a child's chest.
The stamp is a reminder to get regular medical checkups for children and talk to doctors about child development issues early and often, Minniear said.
He said 65 million copies of the stamp will be sold nationally, thereby creating a lasting reminder of the need to givechildren everything they need to thrive and succeed.
