Police say man stole pants at mall

BOARDMAN -- A Youngstown man is charged with felony theft, accused of stuffing 25 pairs of work pants into a trash bag and trying to flee a Southern Park Mall store.
A store security officer at Sears called police Monday afternoon, saying that he had stopped a man for shoplifting.
The security officer told police that Butler Johnson IV, 32, Melvina Avenue, walked around the store with two women and that he pulled out a black trash bag in the men's department. The three of them then grabbed several pairs of work pants, put them in the bag and tried to leave.
As the security guard approached, Johnson dropped the bag, all three fled and the guard caught Johnson, a police report said. The 25 pairs of pants are valued at $500, according to the report. Police arrested Johnson when they arrived at the store.
On Sunday morning, a man spraying weed killer near a Market Street business saw a naked man walk out from behind some hedges.
The naked man was described as being well-built, middle-aged with short, dark hair. The witness also told police that he didn't think the naked man purposely exposed himself and that he seemed preoccupied, looking at Market Street. Police didn't find the naked man when they checked the area.
