Locking caps sell fast
PITTSBURGH (AP) -- Locking fuel caps are becoming the latest must-have automotive accessory as gas prices spike, retailers said.
"I've never seen anything like this before. These things were collecting dust," said Brian Drake, who works at Bridgeville Auto Parts.
"We can't even get them from suppliers. We've placed a couple orders. We're still waiting for them."
The Pep Boys store in Robinson also ran out.
Dave Snyder, a Pep Boys sales associate, said the locking caps sold out in a week when normally just one cap a month is sold.
