Mooney keeps perfect record; Boardman loses



ATHOL SPRINGS, N.Y. -- The Cardinal Mooney High stayed undefeated with a 21-14 victory over St. Francis on Saturday.
Nate Burney had a 19-yard touchdown run, and Mike Cylar added a 24-yard touchdown run in the third quarter as the Cardinals (2-0) outscored St. Francis 14-0 in the period to take control.
The Cardinals' first touchdown came on a 33-yard touchdown pass from Derrell Johnson to Patrick Kohowski early in the second quarter. Jason Hehr added a key interception in the third quarter for the Cardinals.
St. Francis, which is 0-3 all-time against Mooney, scored first on a 12-yard pass from Ilio DiPaulo to Zelano Falbo in the first quarter. DiPaulo finished the scoring with a 1-yard touchdown run with 1:36 left in the game.
Cleveland St. Ignatius 32,Boardman 0
CLEVELAND -- Rudy Kirbis completed 17 of 24 passes for 245 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions for St. Ignatius (2-0).
Nick Secue ran 10 times for 112 yards and two touchdowns.
For Boardman (0-2), Joe Bako completed 6 of 12 for 53 yards, and Tyme Hammond had 102 yards on 19 carries.
