Edgewood, Lakeview capture Maplewood Inv. titles

MECCA -- Maplewood juniors Andy Arnio and Andy Morgan placed 1-2, but it wasn't enough as Ashtabula Edgewood won the team title with 63 points Saturday in the Maplewood Invitational Cross Country meet.
The Rockets finished second in the event with 73 points, and Ashtabula Lakeside was third with 113. Arnio's time for the run was 16 minutes, 9.4 seconds and Morgan was timed at 16:09.6. Jake King of Edgewood was third (17:03.7).
Lakeview captured the girls title with 51 points and McDonald was second with 87.
Kailey Johnson of Lakeview won the run (20:11.5). Rochelle Rupe of Maplewood was third (20:32.7.
Madison Invitational
MADISON -- Poland's Jim Ramson placed fourth overall and the Bulldogs swept the Division II/III titles at Saturday's Madison Invitational cross-country meet.
Lauren Fithian finished 19th (21:06) to lead the Poland girls.
Chardon's Emil Heinekins took the boys run (16:09) and Cherice May of Euclid won the girls race (19:38).
