Spaldings mark 50th anniversary on Alaskan cruise

XYOUNGSTOWN -- Mr. and Mrs. Alan Spalding, 3132 Allendale Ave., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in August during a two-week cruise to Alaska.
They also celebrated the event in July at Four Mile Run Christian Church, Austintown, when their entire family was in Ohio.
Members of their family are Laurie Mikolay of Mineral Ridge; Lynn and Bill Sarver of Lutz, Fla.; Robert and Diane Spalding of North Lima; and Rebecca and Joseph Pieleck of Stowe. They also have eight grandchildren.
The former Marjory Glover and Mr. Spalding were married July 9, 1955, at the church, where they are members.
Mrs. Spalding retired in 1997 from the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services, where she was in customer service.
A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Spalding was a mechanic with General Electric Co. in Warren prior to retiring in 1994.
