XGIRARD -- The Rev. Julius Davis solemnized the marriage of Renee Phillips of Girard and Jeandel Georges of Miami during a 3:30 p.m. ceremony Aug. 21 at Friendship Baptist Church.
The couple accepted congratulations during a reception at The Georgetown in Boardman before leaving for the Bahamas.
Parents of the bride are Mary Jo Phillips of Struthers and Robert Carter of Trenton, N.J., and the groom is a son of Rosemarie Thelamy of Miami.
Gold embroidery enhanced the bride's gold-toned strapless gown, and the skirt flowed into a cathedral train.
Wearing taupe and champagne gowns were the bride's sister and honor attendant, Antonnette Weidner, and the bridesmaids, Shari Sinkovich, Kristine Sinkovich and Karen Phillips, her cousins, and Sally Phillips, her sister. Flower girl was the couple's daughter, Jannelle Georges.
Sharing the duties of best man were Ali Homicile, the groom's cousin, and Phillip Jean Baptise. Groomsmen were Antonio Page; Jerry Johnson; Benjamin Brutus, the groom's cousin; and Rocky Hilaire, his brother. The bride's son, Andre Stores, was ring bearer.
The couple are living in Miami.
The bride attended the Hanna E. Mullins School of Nursing in Salem and was employed at Indalex in Girard before her marriage.
The groom holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Youngstown State University and is employed at the Center for Family and Child Enrichment in Miami.
