Outdoor writers to appear at Jennings Center
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- Get to know several of Pennsylvania's finest outdoor writers while sipping coffees and browsing though environmentally themed books and materials at the Jennings Environmental Education Center from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 1.
Participants must register by contacting the center at (724) 794-6011 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday by Sept. 23.
Participants can personally meet authors Scott Brown, Joe Jenkins, Marcia Bonta, David Dixon and Cynthia Berger. These talented writers will be on hand to discuss, sell and sign their publications. Each author will also provide a 20-minute audio-visual presentation related to their published works. Java Rock Cafe will provide specialty coffees and snacks. Leisurely interpretive hikes through woodlands and prairie will be offered throughout the day and there will be an opportunity to purchase field guides and other outdoor-related materials.
For more information about this or other programs, call the center at (724) 794-6011. Jennings is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and on weekends as scheduled. The trails are open daily from sunrise to sunset for hiking and other environmentally related activities.
