Family outing held for Overlys' 50th anniversary

XCANFIELD -- In celebration of the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Wes Overly, 10 Lakeview Circle, the couple were joined by their family for an outing to the Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake.
Hosts for the Aug. 12-14 event were their five children and nine grandchildren.
Members of their family are Lori and Chris Ogles of Jacksonville, Fla.; Lisa Overly of San Diego, Calif.; Doug and Susan Overly of Pawleys Island, S.C.; Brad and Mindy Overly of St. Simons Island, Ga.; and Jeff and Patty Overly of Boardman.
Mr. Overly and the former Joyce Thomas were married Aug. 27, 1955, at St. Dominic Church, Youngstown.
Mrs. Overly, a homemaker, is a member of Down-to-Earth Garden Club and was the president of Paul C. Bunn PTA.
Mr. Overly retired in 1996 as a trouble-shooter with Ohio Edison in Youngstown. Prior to retiring he served as president and secretary of Local 118, president of Ohio Edison Joint Council and as an executive board member with the UWUA and AFL-CIO.
