CAMPUS NOTES In the spotlight



Awarded and inducted
Dana Rose DeLorenzo, a 2001 Boardman High School graduate, received the outstanding senior student and tour guide of the year awards at DePaul University, Chicago, and was inducted into the school's Phi Kappa Phi Society, an academic honors society. She graduated summa cum laude with a degree in media communications and a minor in Spanish.
She has acted in two independent films and several plays. DeLorenzo has accepted a position at the House of Blues in Chicago as marketing director. She is the daughter of Jerry and Phyllis DeLorenzo of Boardman.
Internship at RCA
Shane Pursifull, son of Jill and Richard Pursifull of Poland, began an internship in August in the sales and marketing department of RCA Label Group, a division of Sony BMG, at Music Square in Nashville. He is a senior majoring in music business in the Mike Curb School of Entertainment and Music Business at Belmont University in Nashville. He also does bookings and management for the band Oblio.
Wins scholarship
Lauren Higbee is a member of Epsilon chapter of Delta Gamma at The Ohio State University and has been awarded the Mary Wolfe Raisler Memorial Scholarship. Lauren is the daughter of George and Marguerite Higbee of Boardman, Ohio. She is studying communications. This scholarship is given based on scholastic achievement, campus and community involvement and chapter leadership. The award, for $1,000, is for the 2005-06 school year.
