Performances dealwith pressures on girls
ASHTABULA -- Originally staged in 1986 as a CBS Schoolbreak Special that won four daytime Emmys, "Babies Having Babies" will be presented by G.B. Community Theatre at the Ashtabula Arts Center, 2928 W. 13th St.
The production is particularly suitable for adult and teenage audiences. It tells of the pressures young women are expected to cope with, frequently on their own with little or no guidance from elders and with little compassion from their peers.
The play will be staged on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, Sept. 7, 10, 11, 14 and 17. Wednesday and Saturday shows will be at 8 p.m. and Sunday matinees will be at 3.
Discount student tickets for both Wednesday performances are available for $4. For complete ticket information, call (440) 964-3396.

"It was incredibly cathartic after spending eight hours in an editing room being frustrated by the filmmaking process to be able to go out and say the 'F' word 104 times." -- Liev Schreiber told AP Radio, on editing his film-directing debut, "Everything Is Illuminated," while appearing in the Broadway production of "Glengarry Glen Ross."
